Position Overview
Position Title: Manager Finance & Compliance
Reports to: Director
Position Purpose
The Manager Finance & Compliance is responsible for leading the organisation’s finance and compliance functions, ensuring effective financial management, robust internal controls, and compliance with legislative, regulatory and funding requirements.
The role provides oversight of financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, audit coordination, and financial systems, while supporting the organisation’s operational and strategic objectives.
The position plays a key role in maintaining and strengthening risk management, compliance and quality frameworks, and supports a culture of accountability and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Working closely with the Director and Leadership Team (Managers), the Manager Finance & Compliance provides timely advice, analysis and support to inform decision-making and enhance organisational performance.
The role is also responsible for the leadership and development of the finance and administration team, ensuring effective service delivery and alignment with Centacare’s mission, values and operational priorities.
The Manager Finance & Compliance may act in the role of the Director when required.
At a later stage in this project, you will be provided a full position description and the 2025-2028 Strategic Plan. You will also be briefed on the success criteria for the first 12 months in the role.
Key Relationships
Reporting to the Director, and leading a team of 4 people, the direct reports to this role are:
- Financial Controller
- Finance Officer
- Administration Team Leader/Compliance Officer
- CRM Project Manager
The role will liaise with funding bodies, other community service providers, vendors, consultants and clients.
An organisation chart will be provided at a later stage in this project.
Commencement
The position is now available; however, the start date is negotiable.
Location
The central office is located 107 William Street Bathurst. Ideally the Manager would be based there, however consideration would be given to being based in either the Dubbo or Orange office.
Conditions of Employment
- A salary of circa $160,000 plus superannuation is expected to attract the high calibre person we seek.
- As a Public Benevolent Institution, Centacare provides access to salary packaging benefits, which may increase the net value of the remuneration package. Currently up to $15,900, FBT exempt Meal and Entertainment Card up to $2,650, and novated lease packaging with pre and post-tax contributions.
- This is a permanent, full-time position. The standard 6-month probation period applies.
- Relocation assistance is available, up to $2,000
- As a Centacare employee, you will have access to the Fitness Passport benefit
- Additional paid leave (days between Boxing Day and the New Year’s Day, Birthday leave)
- Applicants will require a current Drivers Licence to fulfil the requirements of the role.
- Prior to appointment the successful applicant will possess a current, approved Working With Children Check and be willing to go through National Criminal History Check with clearance.

- Highly developed relationship building and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in managing and implementing systems and process improvements, such as Finance and Payroll Systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to exercise sensitivity, discretion and confidentiality.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and a member of a professional accounting body, combined with a track record of continuing professional development.
