Catholic Education in the Diocese of Cairns is a dynamic and growing organisation that is actively inviting leaders to co-create schools that are places of rich learning for now and into the 22nd Century.
Our vision is to offer every student in every school a world class education enriched by their lived encounter with the Catholic Faith. Cairns Catholic Education Services (CES) is committed to this vision through co-Leadership with schools to build communities of learning that provide a safe, nurturing and academically challenging environment.
Due to its size and diversity, leaders have access to a wide range of professional opportunities and our leaders are already engaged in, and in some cases leading, national and international forums.
Cairns CES embraces 30 schools including 20 primary schools, 2 Prep to Year 12 colleges and 8 secondary colleges. This community also includes CES located in Cairns itself. Future schools are planned over the next five years. In total, there are 11 500 students and 1500 staff. St Monica’s College is a part of this community of schools.
St Monica’s College

During the last few years, the College has undertaken a significant building project to complement its two heritage buildings. The College is the only all-female school in the Cairns region. It has an enrolment of over 700 students. Year levels 7 to 12 are offered, with both day and boarding options.
