Position Overview
Position Title: Workforce Manager
Reports to: Head: HR, Risk and WH&S
Position Purpose
Reporting to the Head: HR, Risk and WHS, the role of the Workforce Manager is to provide a high level of human resource advice. The role leads a team of HR Services and Talent Acquisition Officers to
- deliver human resource transactional services; and
- lead continuous improvement initiatives,
across Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst and its system of 33 schools.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively promoting the Vision and Mission of Catholic education in the Diocese
- Provide a high level of human resource advice, and lead a team to deliver human resource services, including
- Talent acquisition and recruitment
- Workforce planning
- HR-related project and development work
- Advice and support to schools
At a later stage in this project, you will be provided a full position description. You will also be briefed on the success criteria for the first 12 months in the role.
Key Relationships
The role reports to the Head: HR, Risk and WH&S and leads a team of 4 people.
The role works closely with
- Members of the broader HR, Risk, WHS team
- All members of the CEDB team office team
- School Principals and leaders across the system of schools
- Catholic agencies of the Diocese of Bathurst
- Outsourced providers such as Empower and PageUp.

Commencement
The start date is negotiable.
Location
The position is located within the Bathurst Office, 225 Gilmour Street, Kelso.
Conditions of Employment
- A salary of $146,000 to $151,000, plus superannuation, is expected to attract the high calibre person we seek.

Selection Criteria

- The desire & capacity to work for a large Catholic education employer.
- Experience as a generalist HR practitioner in a significantly sized organisation, having exposure to:
- Leading an HR team, managing operational/hands-on HR processes.
- Recruitment and workforce planning.
- Delivering change, including reviewing or introducing systems & processes.
- High standards of service delivery combined with knowledge of, or the desire to learn and understand, how HR can support staff to provide better teaching and learning outcomes for students.
- Degree and/or post graduate qualifications in HR or related areas, combined with ongoing relevant professional learning.
