In this TED Talk, Brad Jenkins shares 3 simple life lessons learned from his father when he was 9 years old. Using examples from his childhood and later working in the Oval Office during President Obama’s presidency, Brad highlights how these simple ideas can have such a big impact.
These life lessons can be an anchor point for wherever you are and whatever challenges you face:
Don’t take yourself too seriously
Being able to laugh at yourself gives the opportunity to let people see the real you. And all the incredible gifts you have as an individual.
Be good at what you do
In life there are people who make things happen, and those that don’t. The ones that are in the arena, or spectators on the outside. Be one of those people in the arena and never give up.
Be good to people
If you have a positive disposition and do the right thing by others, then what you receive back from the world will be enhanced ten-fold.
