- Newly created role
Led by Bishop Michael McKenna the Catholic Diocese of Bathurst provides a diverse range of educational options, from primary schools in small rural communities to large secondary schools. More than 9,000 students attend 33 Catholic schools in the diocese, which covers 103,680 square kilometres of regional NSW and includes 19 parishes from Coonamble in the north to Cowra in the south, Lithgow in the east and Eugowra in the west.
In 1973 the Catholic Education Office (CEO) was established to administer a system of parish-based schools throughout the diocese. The CEO is responsible to the Bishop, through the Catholic Education Council, for the 33 Catholic schools in the Diocese.
The Education System in the Diocese of Bathurst is undergoing significant transformation to offer higher levels of support to the 33 schools. This role (actual title is Head of Financial & Administrative Services) has been created as a result of their strategic review. It reports to the Executive Director and will lead a sizable team to deliver a range of services and high level, proactive advice in the areas of systems and school finances, school fee management, office administration, commercial services, property, facilities and other related educational and business services.
