The Catholic Education Office, Wollongong, provides support to 29 primary and 7 secondary schools across the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, Southern Highlands and the Macarthur. With over 16,000 students and employing more than 1,600 staff, the Diocese faces significant growth with new schools in South-West Sydney currently in the planning stage. The Catholic Education Office maintains a strong commitment to the broader work of the Diocese and contributing to the overall life of the Church.
Reporting to the Head of HR Services and as part of an established, professional team, this senior role provides strategic advice and operational support for the 36 schools in a broad range of HR and employment relations areas, including ER/IR, performance management, OH&S, workers compensation, recruitment, privacy and child protection.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate:
- The ability to ‘fit’ within the ethos and mission of the Diocese and the Catholic Education Office;
- At least 7 years of broadly based HR experience, including in employment relations with an understanding of the Fair Work Act; recruitment & selection; HR metrics and the analysis of data to support strategic decision-making;
- A strong service and support attitude with the capacity of building strong relationships;
- Highly developed communication skills;
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and active in continuing professional development
