The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Bathurst, Most Reverend Michael McKenna, is seeking to appoint an Executive Director of Schools.
The Catholic Diocese of Bathurst provides a diverse range of educational options, with the Catholic Education Office supporting 26 primary, four K-10 schools and four secondary schools. With approximately 9,000 students and employing more than 1000 staff, the Diocese covers a significant area of rural NSW.
Responsible to the Bishop through the Vicar for Catholic Education and the Diocesan Catholic Education Council, the Executive Director of Schools provides inspirational and strategic leadership at the symbolic, religious, educational and organisational levels for the Diocesan System of Primary and Secondary Schools.
We expect that people interested in this role will be able to demonstrate:
- A strong personal commitment to the teachings and practice of the Catholic Faith;
- A career in Catholic education, including Principal leadership experience;
- Relevant post-graduate qualifications;
- The capacity to work collaboratively in the ministry of Catholic education.
It is anticipated the successful applicant will be able to commence this appointment prior to the start of term 1 in January 2012, however the Diocese is prepared to consider alternative commencement dates.
