The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay, Most Reverend David Walker, is seeking to appoint a Director of Schools following the announcement that Br Tony Whelan will step down after 11 years of outstanding leadership.
The Diocese of Broken Bay is one of three Catholic dioceses within the Sydney metropolitan area, covering Sydney’s North Shore, Peninsular and Central Coast regions. Of the 52 Catholic schools in the Diocese, 43 schools (36 primary and 7 secondary) are administered by the Catholic Schools Office (CSO).
The Director is responsible to the Bishop to ensure the system of schools and the CSO in the Diocese of Broken Bay reflects and gives witness to the mission of the Catholic Church.
We anticipate that people interested in this role will be able to demonstrate:
- The capacity, desire & preparedness to embrace Bishop David Walker’s Pastoral Directions: to reach out to others through Evangelisation and to form our students as disciples of Jesus;
- A strong personal commitment to the teachings and practise of the Catholic Faith;
- A career in Catholic education, including significant senior leadership experience;
- The capacity to work collaboratively with other ministries and agencies in the diocese, as well as in the ministry of Catholic education more broadly;
- Relevant post-graduate qualifications.
