The Catholic Education Office (CEO) Sydney is responsible for the leadership, efficient operation and management of the systemic schools which educate over 64,000 students in 147 primary and secondary schools in the Archdiocese of Sydney. The CEO is held accountable by governments for the expenditure of a large amount of government funding on behalf of systemic schools.
Reporting to the Head of the Financial Management Unit, based in Leichhardt, this role works closely with School Principals and staff to provide hands-on accounting and audit advice & support to achieve best practice in the governance and stewardship of schools.
We anticipate that people interested in this role will be able to demonstrate:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a finance, accounting or auditing practitioner
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and membership of a recognised accounting body
- Desire & preparedness to work within the ethos of a Catholic school setting
- An enthusiastic and proactive approach to helping and advising others
- High standard of written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work unsupervised but capable of collaborating as part of a team
